It turns the common worry of "How much should I give this person?" into a quick answer from just a few choices like relationship, closeness, and attendance.

How are the amount standards set?
The amounts this site shows are reference standards based on gift money customs widely used in Korea. We use relationship (acquaintance, coworker, friend, relative, family), closeness (normal, close, very close), and for weddings attendance and meal cost as variables to compute an amount range. Amounts are tidied to match envelope customs. That said, there is no single right answer for gift money, and the appropriate amount can vary by region, season, and family culture, so the final amount is yours to decide.
